Writers Todd Almond and Kate Douglas are piquing our interest in their new musical The Lucky Few with a preview track featuring Tony nominee Colton Ryan, along with Douglas.
The musical, currently in development by Almond and Douglas, centers on Jane and Thomas, two people from two different generations, who meet at a VFW dance in South Dakota on New Year's Eve, 1959. The "lucky few" refers to the generation born during the Great Depression, between the Greatest Generation and the Baby Boomers. They lost the fewest members to wars and were beneficiaries of the economic prosperity of the '50s.

The Lucky Few has been presented in concert at Ancram Opera House and Joe's Pub in 2023, and received development opportunities at SPACE on Ryder Farm and The Orchard Project. A concert tour of the show is in the works and more tracks are planned for release this year.
Both Almond and Douglas are performers, playwrights, and musicians. Almond was last seen on Broadway in Girl From the North Country and Douglas' play The Apiary is currently running Off-Broadway at Second Stage.
