International News Lillian Hellman's Watch on the Rhine To Receive Rare London Revival

The production, along with a new production of Next to Normal, is among the newly announced 30th anniversary season for Donmar Warehouse.

Lillian Hellman's rarely produced Watch on the Rhine will receive a London revival this season via Donmar Warehouse.

The U.K. company has announced the first three shows in their 30th anniversary season, with Hellman's anti-fascist epic scheduled to receive its first London revival in more than 40 years. Directed by Ellen McDougall, the cast will include Kate Duchêne, Caitlin FitzGerald and Patricia Hodge, with additional casting information to come. The production will begin performances December 9, and will play through February 4, 2023, with an opening night of December 15.

Additional productions for the anniversary season will include the world première of Diana Nneka Atuona’s Trouble in Butetown, which will be directed by Tinuke Craig, and a summer 2023 production of Tom Kitt and Brian Yorkey’s Pulitzer and Tony winning musical Next to Normal, directed by Donmar Artistic Director Michael Longhurst.

In celebration of the company's anniversary, the Donmar will provide 3,000 £10 tickets to audience members under 30, with the tickets available for every performance. More than 1000 free tickets will be available for audiences under 26 as part of the Donmar’s YOUNG+FREE program.

Every production will have a BSL (British Sign Language) performance, in addition to captioned and audio described performances.
