It's Only a Play (Broadway at the Bernard B. Jacobs Theatre). Terrence McNally's backstage comedy It's Only a Play stars Nathan Lane, Matthew Broderick, Katie Finneran, T.R. Knight, F. Murray Abraham, Stockard Channing and 2015 Tony Award nominee Micah Stock. Tony Award winner Jack O'Brien directs. Airline Highway (Broadway at the Samuel J. Friedman Theatre). Lisa D'Amour's Airline Highway, a story set on the colorful fringes of New Orleans' skid row, received four 2015 Tony Award nominations. The cast includes 2015 Tony Award nominees Julie White and K. Todd Freeman, Carolyn Braver, Scott Jaeck, Ken Marks, Caroline Neff,Tim Edward Rhoze, Judith Roberts, Joe Tippett, Shannon Eagen, Venida Evans, Joe Forbrich, Leslie Hendrix, Sekou Laidlow, Todd d'Amour and Toni Martin. "In the parking lot of The Hummingbird, a once-glamorous motel on New Orleans’s infamous Airline Highway, a group of friends gather," press notes state. "A rag-tag collection of strippers, hustlers and philosophers have come together to celebrate the iconic burlesque performer Miss Ruby. What I Did Last Summer (Off-Broadway at the Irene Diamond Stage). Signature Theatre's revival of A.R. Gurney's moving and laugh-out-loud coming-of-age story What I Did Last Summer is directed by Jim Simpson. The cast includes Kristine Nielsen, Pico Alexander, Juliet Brett, Noah Galvin, Carolyn McCormick and Kate McGonigle. What I Did Last Summer follows 14-year-old Charlie and his mother Grace, as they attempt to enjoy their vacation at their lake house in the summer of 1945. When Charlie befriends the town misfit, the family must confront society's expectations and the concept of conformity. The play was first staged in New York in 1983 and revived in 2007. Don Juan (Off-Broadway at the Pearl Theatre Company). The Pearl Theatre Company presents Jess Burkle's new adaptation of Moliere's farce. Directed by Hal Brooks, the cast includes Jolly Abraham, Brad Heberlee, Chris Mixon, Justin Adams, Isabella Curti and Pete McElligot. According to press notes, "Don Juan has just gotten married—so naturally it's time for him to get out of town. Thus begins the strangest road trip in history; a madcap journey by sea and land in which our 'hero' lies, cheats, blusters, and seduces his way across the world — much to the dismay of his honest but dim servant—in an effort to escape his blushing bride's outraged family."
