LaChanze and Alex Brightman

Tony winner LaChanze (The Color Purple, Once On This Island, Trouble in Mind) and Tony nominee Alex Brightman (Beetlejuice, School of Rock—The Musical, Wicked) have joined the all-star roster of Broadway favorites who will set sail on Playbill Travel's upcoming Broadway in Alaska cruise, exploring Alaska and British Columbia with cruise guests by day and performing exclusive, unforgettable concerts by night.

Set for July 21-28, the cruise will also welcome Tony winner Brian Stokes Mitchell (Kiss Me, Kate; Ragtime), Tony nominee Rob McClure (Mrs. Doubtfire, Chaplin), Tony nominee Kate Baldwin (Hello, Dolly!; Finian's Rainbow), Tony winner John Lloyd Young (Jersey Boys on stage and screen), Grammy- and Emmy Award-winning music director John McDaniel (Bonnie and Clyde, Annie Get Your Gun), and theatre historian Ted Chapin.

The eight-day cruise on the luxurious Seaborn Odyssey will kick off July 21 in Juneau, Alaska’s capital. Cruisegoers will subsequently experience the dramatic cliffs and waterfalls of the Tracy Arm Fjord; the majesty of the Misty Fjords and the coastal mountains in Prince Rupert; a day of scenic cruising through the Grenville, Whale & Princess Royal Channels; a stop in Alert Bay and journey into the Johnstone Strait with its blue and humpbacked whales; and a voyage through the Seymour Narrows that will lead to the final stop, the dynamic Canadian city of Vancouver.

Travelers will also be able to select from a host of exciting excursions, including explorations through a wonderous terrain full of waterfalls, rainforests, glaciers, giant cedars and sequoias, primeval forests, and abundant wildlife.

But since you'll be traveling with Playbill, back on the boat is where things really get into gear. The ship's all-star roster will be on hand to give once-in-a-lifetime concert performances, accompanied by world-class music director McDaniel (The Rosie O'Donnell Show). Chapin, the former president and chief creative officer of The Rodgers & Hammerstein Organization, will also conduct insightful interviews with the Broadway favorites.

Cruise guests will also enjoy a celebratory welcome cocktail reception, complimentary 24-hour room service, complimentary beverages including alcohol, and additional onboard entertainment. The ship features three restaurants, plus a specialty Thomas Keller restaurant, two specialty bars, and a theatre fit for a Broadway legend—or eight!
