InterAct Theatre Company was awarded Outstanding Overall Production of a Play for its world premiere of Down Past Passyunk by A. Zell Williams. Inis Nua Theatre Company won Outstanding Overall Production of a Musical for Midsummer [a play with songs].
The awards for Outstanding Direction of a Play and Musical went to James Ijames for The Brothers Size at Simpatico Theatre Project and Kate Galvin for Midsummer [a play with songs] at Inis Nua Theatre Company, respectively.
Alice M. Gatling won for Outstanding Leading Actress in a Play for her performance in Gidion's Knot, and Charlie DelMarcelle won Outstanding Leading Actor in a Play for his performance in I Am My Own Wife. Outstanding Leading Actress in a Musical went to Liz Filios for her performance in Midsummer [a play with songs], and Ben Dibble won Outstanding Leading Actor in a Musical for his performance as Leo Bloom in Arden Theatre Company's Parade.
The 140 nominations spanned 26 categories, and the awards featured a new voting system, which was announced in 2013. The 2014 awards included a return to a two-tiered organization with nominators and judges.
The Awards Ceremony was held at the Merriam Theater, followed by a party at The Kimmel Center. A complete list of the winners follows.
