Julia Murney, who has wowed audiences off and on Broadway in such musicals as The Wild Party and Wicked, will direct You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown this fall as part of the 2024 Sharon Playhouse season.
The feel-good musical, based on Charles M. Schulz's famed comic strip Peanuts, will play the Sharon, Connecticut, venue September 20–29. Michelle Lemon will choreograph the musical, penned by Clark Gesner and John Gordon, with additional material by Andrew Lippa. Casting will be announced at a later date.
The forthcoming 2024 MainStage season will launch June 21–July 7 with Chris D'Arienzo's Rock of Ages, directed by Hunter Foster and choreographed by Shannon Lewis. The season will continue with Matthew Sklar, Chad Beguelin, and Bob Martin's heartwarming musical comedy The Prom, helmed by Artistic Director Carl Andress
and choreographed by Krystyna Resavy
(July 26–August 11); and conclude with Robert Harling's Steel Magnolias,
directed by Jackson Gay (August 30-September 8);
Eric Thomas Johnson serves as music director for the season, and Judy Bowman Casting returns as casting director.
The Playhouse will celebrate the start of its 2024 Season of Joy with the annual Spotlight Gala June 1. A staged reading, with details to be announced, will be presented September 13, and the season will conclude with the fourth annual Writers Playground, a ten-minute play festival of new works written by local playwrights, October 4 –5.
