Paper Mill Playhouse's production of the Tony-winning musical Fiddler on the Roof opens at the New Jersey venue December 10 following previews that began December 6. Performances will continue through January 7, 2024.

Helmed by Paper Mill Playhouse Producing Artistic Director Mark S. Hoebee, the production showcases the original Tony-winning choreography by Jerome Robbins, reproduced by Parker Esse.

The cast is led by Jordan Gelber (Avenue Q, Mr. Saturday Night) as Tevye, Jill Abramovitz (Beetlejuice) as Golde, Alexandra Socha (Spring Awakening) as Tzeitel, Austen Danielle Bohmer (Diana) as Hodel, Maya Jacobson (Fidler Afn Dakh) as Chava, Etai Benson (Company) as Motel, David R. Gordon (Flashdance) as Perchik, Suzanne Grodner (Beautiful) as Yente, Jeremy Radin (The Way Back) as Lazar Wolf, and Andrew Alstat (The Sound of Music) as Fyedka.

The ensemble includes Paloma Maia Aisenberg, Sophie Aknin, Ari Axelrod, Ze’ev Barmor, Sabrina Brush, Michael Bullard, Mark Campbell, Will Stephan Connell, Nick Davis, Ira Denmark, Alex Dorf, Derek Ege, Carley Gilbert, Emerson Glick, Blair Goldberg, Susan J. Jacks, Michał Kołaczkowski, Kyra Leeds, Beatrice Owens, Nick Raynor, Anna Grace Rosenthal, and Price Waldman.

Winner of the 1965 Tony Award for Best Musical and based on the stories of Sholom Aleichem, Fiddler on the Roof features a book by Joseph Stein, music by Jerry Bock, and lyrics by Sheldon Harnick. The score to the classic musical, about Tevye the milkman, his wife, and five daughters, includes such favorites as “Tradition,” “Matchmaker, Matchmaker,” “If I Were a Rich Man,” “To Life (L’Chaim!),” and “Sunrise, Sunset.”

The production features reproduction choreography by Esse, music direction by Jillian Zack, scenic design by Kelly James Tighe, costume design by Leon Dobkowski, lighting design by Charlie Morrison and Jason M. Flamos, sound design by Sun Hee Kil, hair and wig design by Leah J. Loukas, and fight and intimacy direction by Rick Sordelet. Casting is by JZ Casting. Melissa Chacón is the production stage manager.
