News John Lahr Will Discuss "Show People and Their Shows" at Theatre for A New Audience John Lahr, long-time drama critic for The New Yorker, will appear at Theatre for A New Audience Oct. 7 at 7 PM to discuss his new book "Joy Ride: Show People and Their Shows."

Lahr, who won the 2015 National Book Critics Circle Award for his acclaimed biography "Tennessee Williams: Mad Pilgrimage of the Flesh," will be joined by playwright Sarah Ruhl, who serves as a subject in "Joy Ride."

"Joy Ride: Show People and Their Shows" includes stories about the lives of such playwrights as Sarah Ruhl, Arthur Miller, Harold Pinter, Tony Kushner, David Mamet, August Wilson, Mike Nichols, Nicholas Hytner, Ingmar Bergman and William Shakespeare, among others.

Lahr and Ruhl will speak at Polonsky Shakespeare Center in Brooklyn.
