2022 Best Leading Actress Tony Award winner Joaquina Kalukango (Paradise Square) returns to Broadway December 16 in the revival of Stephen Sondheim and James Lapine's Into the Woods. Kalukango succeeds Tony winner Patina Miller and Montego Glover, who have been sharing the role of The Witch.
Before Paradise Square, Kalukango appeared on Broadway in Godspell, Holler If Ya Hear Me, and The Color Purple. She earned her first Tony nomination in 2020 for her performance in the first Broadway bow of Jeremy O. Harris' Slave Play.

With a book by Lapine and a score by Sondheim, Into the Woods combines the fairy-tale stories of Cinderella, Jack and the Beanstalk, Rapunzel, and more, ultimately going beyond "ever after" to explore what happens next.

Casting is by The Telsey Office's Craig Burns, and Cody Renard Richard serves as production supervisor. Justin Scribner is production stage manager, and music coordination is by Seymour Red Press and Kimberlee Wertz.
Following a two-week run at New York City Center in May, the revival transferred to Broadway's St. James Theatre, where it opened July 10, after beginning previews June 28.
After the January 8 conclusion of the Broadway run, Into the Woods will play several limited engagements across the U.S., with many current and original Broadway cast members continuing with the production.
