Jersey Boys Tony winner John Lloyd Young will play the role of Tom Wingfield in the Alabama Shakespeare Festival’s upcoming production of The Glass Menagerie, which will be presented October 13–November 5 on the Octagon Stage.

ASF favorite Greta Lambert will star as Amanda Wingfield in the Tennessee Williams drama, with L.A. Drama Critics Circle Award winner Kevin Earley as The Gentleman Caller and Christina King as Laura Wingfield. David Ellenstein will direct.

"With incredible actors at the helm like John Lloyd Young and Greta Lambert, this production of Williams' masterpiece an absolute must-see," said Rick Dildine, the new artistic director of ASF, in a statement. "Seeing these award-winning actors perform in the intimacy of the Octagon Theatre will be a powerful experience for anyone lucky enough to catch a performance of this limited run.”

Largely autobiographical, The Glass Menagerie is based on memory and highlights the power one’s family can have on another’s trajectory. Williams’ drama opened on Broadway in 1945. It was revived on Broadway last season starring Sally Field.

The design team includes costume designer Brenda Van Der Wiel, set designer Peter Hicks, lighting designer Phil Monat, and sound designer William Burns.

Tickets start at $30 and are available online at ASF.net, by phone at (800) 841-4273 and at the ASF box office, located at 1 Festival Drive.
