A host of Broadway stars are slated to perform in Songs from Pippin: A Gala Concert at Symphony Space. The concert will be held Monday, April 8 at 8 PM at Symphony Space's Peter Jay Sharp Theater.
The concert will feature Zachary Noah Piser (KPOP) in the title role, Tony winner J. Harrison Ghee (Some Like it Hot) as Leading Player, Kate Baldwin (Hello, Dolly!) as Fastrada, and Tony winner Judy Kaye (The Phantom of the Opera) as Berthe. Additional casting will be announced at a later date.
Tony winner Danny Burstein will host the event, which is produced and directed by Annette Jolles and Joel Fram, with musical direction by Paul Staroba.
Songs from Pippin is the centerpiece of Symphony Space's 2024 spring gala. Proceeds from the event will help Symphony Space's mission to support the NYC community by creating, commissioning, and presenting engaging and impactful programming.
Pippin features a book by Roger O. Hirson, and music and lyrics by Stephen Schwartz. Telling a fanciful (and fictitious) version of the life of the son of Holy Roman Emperor Charlemagne, the 1972 musical introduced such songs as "Corner of the Sky," "Magic to Do," "Simple Joys," "Morning Glow," and "Extraordinary."
Concert-only tickets start at $75, and reception and ticket packages are also available here.
