Casting is set for The Colony Theatre’s upcoming production of the musical Calvin Berger, which will play the Burbank venue February 16-March 26, 2023. Opening night is February 18.
Directed by Ovation Award winner Richard Israel with musical direction by Anthony Lucca, the cast will feature Corinne Miller (Rubicon's In the Heights), Jordan Quisno (Ghostforce), Frankie A. Rodriguez (High School Musical: The Musical: The Series), and Jasmine Sharma (McCarter's The Wolves).
Calvin Berger, which has a book, music, and lyrics by Barry Wyner, is loosely based on the story of Cyrano de Bergerac and concerns the physical insecurity among high school seniors. The story focuses on Calvin (Rodriguez), who is smitten with the beautiful Rosanna (Sharma), but is paralyzed by self-doubt due to the size of his nose.
The musical will also have scenic design by Alex M. Calle, lighting design by Martha Carter, costume design by Joanie Coyote, sound design by Julien Reneaud, projection design by Gabrieal Griego, and properties design by John McElveney. The production stage manager is Julia Donlon.
