A newly released video is giving us a longer look at Broadway favorite (and Oscar winner) Ariana DeBose's vocals in Disney's upcoming animated musical Wish. Co-starring fellow Broadway alum Victor Garber, the film is set to hit movie theatres November 22. Hear DeBose sing "This Wish" from the movie above.
The film features the voices of Academy Award winner DeBose as Asha, Garber as Sabino, Chris Pine as King Magnifico, Angelique Cabral as Queen Amaya, Natasha Rothwell as Sakina, and Alan Tudyk as Valentino. The cast also includes Jennifer Kumiyama as Dahlia, Evan Peters as Simon, Harvey Guillén as Gabo, Ramy Youssef as Safi, Niko Vargas as Hal, Della Saba as Bazeema, and Jon Rudnitsky as Dario.
Wish takes place in the magical magical kingdom of Rosas, where Asha, a sharp-witted idealist, makes a wish so powerful that it is answered by a cosmic force: a little ball of boundless energy called Star. Together, Asha and Star confront a most formidable foe—the ruler of Rosas, King Magnifico—to save her community and prove that when the will of one courageous human connects with the magic of the stars, wondrous things can happen.
The film features original songs by Grammy-nominated singer-songwriter Julia Michaels and Grammy-winning producer-songwriter-musician Benjamin Rice, plus a score by composer Dave Metzger.
Wish is helmed by Academy Award-winning director Chris Buck (Frozen, Frozen 2) and Fawn Veerasunthorn (Raya and the Last Dragon), and produced by Peter Del Vecho and Juan Pablo Reyes Lancaster Jones. Jennifer Lee executive produces, and Lee and Allison Moore are writers on the project.
