Second Stage Theater's production of Jen Silverman's Spain officially opened Off-Broadway at the Tony Kiser Theater November 30, and we have the photos to prove it.
The play, which began previews November 8, is directed by Tyne Rafaeli. Spain is set in 1936, when a pair of passionate filmmakers land their next big project: a sweeping Spanish Civil War film with the potential to change American hearts and minds. Only one hangup: it just happens to be bankrolled by the KGB. Read the production's reviews here.
Silverman's plays also include Collective Rage: A Play in 5 Betties, The Moors, The Roommate, Witch, and Highway Patrol. Her books include the novel We Play Ourselves and the story collection The Island Dwellers.
Edelstein will directs a cast of 30, with nearly 1,000 San Diegans participating directly in the milestone production that will mark the completion of the Bard’s canon at the venue.
