The world premiere of Tony nominee Dave Malloy’s new a cappella musical Octet is set to open May 16 at the Signature Theatre. The show, marking Signature’s first production of a musical, is scheduled to play an extended run through June 16.

Featuring a score for an a cappella chamber choir and a libretto inspired by Internet comment boards, scientific debates, religious texts, and Sufi poetry, Octet explores addiction and nihilism within the messy context of 21st-century technology.
