The New York-based Wheelhouse Theater Company, best known for their 2018 production of Kurt Vonnegut's Happy Birthday, Wanda June, will present the New York premiere of Life Sucks by Aaron Posner (Stupid Fucking Bird). The company recently held their first rehearsal for the production, which included a visit from Posner.

Described as a "sort of" adaptation of Chekhov's Uncle Vanya, the play follows a group of old friends, ex-lovers, estranged in-laws, and lifelong enemies, who gather to grapple with life’s thorniest questions—and each other. The production is directed by Jeff Wise and is set to run March 22–April 20, with opening night scheduled for March 27.
