Broadway Cares Exclusive Pics! Nick Adams, Laverne Cox and 200+ Sizzling Dancers Give It All For Record-Breaking Broadway Bares The two performances of Broadway Bares: Top Bottoms of Burlesque, a show inspired by the Golden Age of Broadway, earned a record $1,598,501 for Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS, more than $100,000 more than last year's event. This year's 25th annual fundraiser in the battle against AIDS, presented June 21 at 9:30 PM and midnight at the Hammerstein Ballroom, featured "a cast of colorful characters for every desire and fantasy. Broadway’s iconic personalities — from devilish divas to charismatic casting directors, luscious lyricists to studly stagehands — will combine the naughtiness of burlesque with the razzle-dazzle of Broadway," according to BC/EFA.

Through Striptease and Song, Jerry Mitchell Bares All and Brings Safe Sex Appeal to Broadway

This year, Broadway Bares welcomed back to the director’s chair its Tony Award-winning founder and executive producer, Jerry Mitchell. Broadway Bares: Top Bottoms of Burlesque was co-directed by Nick Kenkel. "A lot of things can happen in 25 years, but who would've thought that seven guys dancing on a bar could grow into an annual event that has raised so much to help people living with HIV and AIDS," Mitchell said in an earlier statement. "Broadway Bares has done that. And this year we're going full out, maybe even with a top hat and our version of tails, ’cause if, baby, you're a bottom, you're the top."

Last year's Broadway Bares: Rock Hard! raised $1,386,105. To date, the 25 editions of Broadway Bares have raised more than $14.2 million for Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS.
