Having worked on The Museum of Broken Relationships at The O’Neill Festival, book writer and lyricist David H. Bell, composer-lyricist Daniel Green and director Scott Evans bring their musical to Aspen for further development. The performance has just been announced as part of the second annual Aspen Theatre Festival.
The show will play August 25 at Aspen Theatre’s Hurst Theatre.
“There’s something powerful about the Museum that resonates with me—the idea that objects from past relationships hold emotional weight, and that unburdening ourselves of those things can provide not only personal catharsis, but also a pathway into stories that create a shared human experience. I think that’s at the core of what the Museum is all about, and what David and Dan capture so beautifully in their work,” said Evans in a press statement.
The performance stars Erin Davie (Side Show) and Colin Hanlon (Rent). The cast also includes Mark Price, Margot Moreland, Dane Agostinis, Jim Ballard, Jeffrey Correia, Marcus Shane, Amber Carson, Chavon Hampton, Brianna Barnes, Olivia Oguma, Marco Robinson and Jessica Kahkoska.
Now in its second year, the Festival began with a workshop of Alice by Heart by Duncan Sheik and Steven Sater (Spring Awakening).
