Ed Dixon's Georgie: The Life and Death of George Rose, written and performed by the Broadway vet, will receive a workshop presentation in New York April 11. The monologue recalls Dixon's relationship with his friend and mentor, the late Tony-winning actor George Rose, and is set to play Off-Broadway in the fall.

Georgie: The Life and Death of George Rose had its world premiere at Arlington's Signature Theatre earlier this year, directed by Eric Schaeffer. “It has been nothing but pure joy in working with Ed Dixon to bring this special story to life. Not many artists would be able to shed layer after layer of emotion to expose the deep feelings of life and this extraordinary journey like Ed does on stage night after night,“ commented the director in a statement.

Rose starred on Broadway and London stages alongside the likes of Katharine Hepburn, Noel Coward, Dame Edith Evans, Richard Burton and Laurence Olivier. His life was abruptly cut short when he was murdered by his adopted son in 1988. He was last seen on Broadway in The Mystery of Edwin Drood, winning the Tony Award for Best Actor in a Musical.
