Find out what they had to say about who they were wearing, why they like dressing up and what their personal beliefs on theatre etiquette are.

We spotted Emily outside of Aladdin and we loved her outfit, which was from The Children's Place. She told us that she loves dressing up for shows, and that when sees On the Town she's going to dress up like a sailor. When asked for her thoughts on dressing up, her mother, who teaches theatre, said, "They're dressing up for us, so we should dress up for them. It's a big day out – a big event. It used to be that everyone always dressed up, and that tradition has kind of slipped through the cracks. We're trying to bring it back."
We met Laila outside of Matilda and were impressed by her panda bear dress, which she was very proud of. She was excited to see the show, as it was her first Broadway musical. Her mother told us that she told Laila that they definitely had to dress up for the show because "there's a dress code."
Next up were Will, Miller and Rollins, three Southern siblings who were seeing Finding Neverland with their family. Will and Miller were wearing Polo Ralph Lauren, and Rollins was wearing a handmade smock dress and white Mary Janes. They were all excited to see the show. Their mother told us that they always dressed up "because [they're] Southern." She added that she feels it's important to dress up for the theatre because it's "part of the culture" and it's good to introduce that to children early on.
Finally, we met sisters Eva and Lyla outside of Matilda. Eva was rocking a floral dress from Ruum and some leather Converse sneakers, while Lyla was sporting a little black dress by Sweetheart Rose. Eva told us that she doesn't think that dressing up for the theatre is that important, but her older sister Jenna told us that she believes dressing up shows respect for the performers. Their mother added that she thinks dressing up is important because it gives children a "chance to experience acting grown up."
