Disney's Live-Action Aladdin Arrives in Movie Theatres May 24
The movie features the Alan Menken-Tim Rice-Howard Ashman songs from the 1992 original, plus a new tune co-written by Pasek and Paul.
Disney’s live-action remake of Aladdin, starring Mena Massoud as Aladdin, Naomi Scott as Jasmine, and Will Smith as the Genie, flies into movie theatres nationwide May 24.
Guy Ritchie directs the movie, which includes Alan Menken, Tim Rice, and Howard Ashman’s songs from the original 1992 animated hit, as well as new material and lyrics from Dear Evan Hansen and La La Land duo Benj Pasek and Justin Paul.

The cast also includes Marwan Kenzari as Jafar, Navid Negahban as Sultan, and Nasim Pedrad and
Billy Magnussen in new roles created specifically for the new adaptation.
The stage adaptation of Aladdin continues to run on Broadway at the New Amsterdam Theatre, having celebrated its five-year anniversary in January.
