Completing the cast will be Daoud Heidami, last seen on Broadway in Bengal Tiger at the Baghdad Zoo and on TV in "What's Your Emergency," and Nate Miller, who played Tubby Ted in the Off-Broadway staging of Peter and the Starcatcher.
The full cast also includes Emmy winner and Tony nominee Holland Taylor (Ann, "Two and a Half Men"), Drama Desk Award winner Marylouise Burke (Kimberly Akimbo, Fuddy Meers), Rachel Dratch (Love’s Labour’s Lost) and Glenn Fitzgerald ("The Sixth Sense").
MTC's staging of Ripcord, helmed by Tony and Emmy winner David Hyde Pierce, will begin previews Sept. 29 and is scheduled to officially open Oct. 20 at New York City Center – Stage I. Lindsay-Abaire is the award-winning author of Rabbit Hole, Fuddy Meers and Good People. His newest comedy, Ripcord, is described as both "inappropriate" and "hilarious," as it follows two elderly women in a no-holds-barred battle of the wills - to the death.
"A sunny room on an upper floor is prime real estate in the Bristol Place Assisted Living Facility," begins a press statement for the show. "So when the cantankerous Abby (Taylor) is forced to share her quarters with new-arrival Marilyn (Burke), she has no choice but to get rid of the infuriatingly chipper woman by any means necessary. A seemingly harmless bet between the old women quickly escalates into a dangerous game of one-upmanship that reveals not just the tenacity of these worthy opponents, but also deeper truths that each would rather remain hidden."
