Broadway News Danny DeVito Is Back on Broadway in I Need That, Opening November 2

The newly extended world premiere from Theresa Rebeck is directed by Moritz von Stuelpnagel.

Roundabout Theatre Company's world premiere of Theresa Rebeck's I Need That officially opens at the American Airlines Theatre on Broadway November 2 after beginning previews October 13. The extended limited engagement will continue through December 30.

Starring in a Broadway return is Danny DeVito as Sam, sharing the stage with his daughter Lucy DeVito as Amelia and Ray Anthony Thomas as Foster. Understudies Suzy Jane Hunt, Lance Roberts, and Danny Rutigliano round out the company.

The performance is Danny DeVito's first time back on the Main Stem since his Tony-nominated performance in The Price, also a Roundabout production.

The work follows Sam, an agoraphobic who prefers to stay at home with his many belongings. Forced to clean up his house or face eviction, he has to decide what's trash and what's treasure.

I Need That features scenic design by Alexander Dodge, costumes by Tilly Grimes, lighting design by Yi Zhao, sound design by Fitz Patton and Bradlee Ward, and original music by Patton.
