Directed by James Macdonald, the limited engagement will continue through Nov. 1.
The cast will comprise Brooke Bloom, Sean Dugan, Lucy Owen, Chris Perfetti, John Sanders, Izzie Steele and Clarke Thorell.
"Set in colonial Africa and 1979 London," Cloud Nine, according to press notes, "is about power, politics, family, Queen Victoria and sex." This modern classic has not been seen in a major New York production since 1981, when it ran for over two years.
Prolific English playwright Churchill has been honored with Obie Awards for her plays Top Girls, A Number and Cloud Nine; a Lucille Lortel Award for Owners; and Drama Desk Award nominations for The Skriker and Mad Forest. Her Broadway plays include Top Girls and Serious Money. She reunites with Macdonald, who staged her acclaimed play Love and Information at the Royal Court Theatre and Off-Broadway.
Cloud Nine will feature scenic design by Dane Laffrey, costume design by Gabriel Berry, lighting design by Scott Zielinksi, sound design by Darron L West and casting by Telsey + Company.
