Stephen Wadsworth, who directed Tony Award winner Daly in the 2010 Kennedy Center revival of Terrence McNally's music-kissed biographical drama about opera diva Callas, stages the play at Broadway's Samuel J. Friedman Theatre. Previews begin June 14 toward a July 7 opening.

Master Class won the Tony Award as Best Play. Daly won her Tony for playing Rose in the 1989-90 revival of Gypsy.

Olivier Award nominee Boggess (Love Never Dies, The Little Mermaid) plays student-singer Sharon, a role created by Audra McDonald; Brandhagen plays a Stagehand; Cohen plays accompanist Manny; Alexandra Silber plays singer-student Sophie; and Garrett Sorenson plays student singer Tony.

Tickets to the limited engagement of Master Class are on sale through Aug. 14. This production, which is offered as part of MTC's 2010-2011 subscription series, will be the first show to open as part of the 2011-2012 Broadway season.

According to MTC, "Terrence McNally's award-winning play about Maria Callas (Daly) takes us to one of her famous master classes where, late in her own career, she challenges the next generation to make the same sacrifices and dare to rise to the same heights she did, making her the most celebrated, the most reviled and the most controversial singer of her times."

The creative team includes Thomas Lynch (scenic design), Martin Pakledinaz (costume design), David Lander (lighting design) and Jon Gottlieb (sound design).
