The comedy, about two starry-eyed musical theatre hopefuls trying to produce their dream show, ran Off-Broadway in 2007 and was nominated for a Drama Desk Award.
Shamos is currently appearing on Broadway in Noises Off. Fitzgerald is scheduled to return to Broadway this spring in Waitress.
Here's how the show is billed: "After a brief nine-year sabbatical spent working at Dunkin Donuts and Tim Hortons (respectively), Bud and Doug are BACK with their sure-to-be-a-hit show Gutenberg! The Musical! And this time, these two dreamers are taking it all the way to BROADWAY! All they need is a producer. Oh, and a cast. Also a set. Definitely a director. And anywhere from 15 to 35 million dollars — how much does it cost to rent live animals? Point is: THEY’RE SO CLOSE!"
Produced by Shoshana Feinstein, the concert will feature music direction and arrangements by T.O. Sterrett.
