Full casting and creative team have been announced for Pulitzer Prize finalist Theresa Rebeck's Dig at Primary Stages. The new play will begin previews Off-Broadway at 59E59’s Theater A September 2 prior to an opening night slated for September 20. The run will continue through October 22.
Directed by the playwright, the cast will feature Mary Bacon (Coal Country), Jeffrey Bean (Dublin Carol), Greg Keller (Halfway Bitches Go Straight to Heaven), David Mason (Seared), Triney Sandoval (Bernhardt/Hamlet), and Andrea Syglowski (Halfway Bitches Go Straight to Heaven).
Set in a dying plant shop in a dying neighborhood, Dig follows Roger, who is visited by someone from his past: Megan, the neighborhood screw-up, just out of rehab. He wants nothing to do with her. But can a soul beyond saving be saved?
The production will also have scenic design by Christopher and Justin Swader, costume design by Fabian Aguilar, lighting design by Mary Ellen Stebbins, compositions and sound design by Fitz Patton, intimacy coordination and fight direction by Crista Marie Jackson, and props coordination by Carrie Mossman.
