According to Sharon Playhouse, True Love is billed as "an affectionate tribute" to the retro comics of the 50's, "to a long lost era when eternally perfect love was every girl’s dream." The musical journeys through a love comic whose central characters fall in love, have their hearts broken and everything in between. The show also features several iconic 1950's signifiers including "ads for Sea Monkeys, bust enhancers and elevator shoes," among others.
The cast will feature Lael Van Keuren (Sister Act), Jason SweetTooth Williams (Bloodsong of Love), Jane Bruce (Elf), Reid Coe (West Side Story) and David Fanning. The production will also have scenic design by Lauren Mills, costume design by Michelle Eden Humphrey and lighting design by Jamie Roderick. Kelbi-Caitlin H. Carrig is production stage manager. Geoff Josselson is casting director.
