News Casting Announced for 2016 Shaw Festival; Season Includes Sweeney Todd, Our Town and More Casting has been announced for the 2016 Shaw Festival. The season, which is the last for artistic director Jackie Maxwell, will include Alice in Wonderland, A Woman of No Importance, Sweeney Todd, Uncle Vanya and more. The season begins with a preview of Our Town April 9, 2016.

The Festival Theatre season includes Alice in Wonderland, A Woman of No Importance and Sweeney Todd.

The Toronto Star reports that Tara Rosling will star as the titular character in Peter Hinton's new adaptation of Lewis Carroll's Alice's Adventures in Wonderland. Rosling is joined by a 22-person cast that features Jennifer Phipps as the Cheshire Cat, Kyle Blair as the March Hare and Donna Belleville as the Duchess.

Eda Holmes will direct Oscar Wilde's A Woman of No Importance. The cast includes Fiona Reid, Mary Haney, Diana Donnelly and Julia Course.

Jackie Maxwell will direct Sweeney Todd, which stars Ben Campbell as the titular character and Corinne Koslo as Mrs. Lovett. The Sondheim-Wheeler musical also stars Jeff Irving, Kristi Frank, Marcus Nance, Patty Jamieson, Jay Turvey and Andrew Broderick.

The Court House Theatre season includes Uncle Vanya, "Master Harold"…and the Boys and The Adventures of the Black Girl in Her Search for God.

Maxwell will also direct Anton Chekhov’s Uncle Vanya. The show will feature Neil Barclay as the titular character with Moya O’Connell, Harveen Sandhu and Patrick McManus in other leading roles.

James Daly, Andre Sills and Allan Louis will star in Athol Fugard's "Master Harold"…and the Boys, directed by Philip Akin.

Ravi Jain will direct Natasha Mumba in Lisa Codrington’s one-act adaptation of The Adventures of the Black Girl in Her Search for God.

The Royal George Theatre season includes Our Town, Mrs. Warren’s Profession and Engaged.

Ben Campbell will star as the Stage Manager in Thornton Wilder's Our Town, which also stars Kate Besworth and Charlie Gallant as Emily and George, respectively. Molly Smith will direct.

Nicole Underhay will star as the titular character in Bernard Shaw's Mrs. Warren’s Profession, which Eda Holmes will also direct.

Morris Panych will take on W.S. Gilbert’s Engaged with a cast that includes Gray Powell and Jeff Meadows.

Finally, the Studio Theatre season features August Strindberg's The Dance of Death. Martha Henry directs a cast that includes Jim Mezon, Fiona Reid and Patrick Galligan.
