The UK Tour of Singin' in the Rain has announced its full cast, including a few guest stars who will be taking over as principal cast members at specific locations. Leading the show will be Sam Lips (Cats) as Don Lockwood, Charlotte Gooch (West End's Top Hat) as Kathy Selden, Ross McLaren (Troubadour Theatre's Sleepless) as Cosmo Brown, and Jenny Gayner (West End's Chicago) as Lina Lamont.
Directed by Jonathan Church with choreography by Andrew Wright, this musical is a stage adaptation of the popular movie musical of the same name which starred actors Gene Kelly and Debbie Reynolds. First coming to the West End stage in 1983 and Broadway in 1985, Singin' in the Rain features the song favorites "Make 'Em Laugh," "Temptation," and the title song "Singin' in the Rain" (which Tom Holland paid homage to in his winning Lip Sync Battle performance).
A few special guests will be appearing at select performances, reprising their roles from the show's 2021 run at Sadler’s Wells Theatre. Special guests include Faye Tozer (West End's Everybody’s Talking About Jamie) taking over the role of Lina Lamont at tour stops in Canterbury, Woking, Milton Keynes, Edinburgh, and Newcastle; Kevin Clifton (Rock of Ages, UK Tour) playing Cosmo Brown at stops in Bristol, Cardiff, Southampton, Liverpool and Glasgow; and Adam Cooper leading as Don Lockwood in Woking, Manchester, Glasgow, and Plymouth.
Rounding out the principal cast is Sandra Dickinson as Dora Bailey, Michael Matus as Roscoe Dexter, and Imogen Brooke as Zelda Zanders. The tour will kickstart March 17 at Canterbury’s Marlowe Theatre, and will proceed to visit theatres in Woking, Southend, Milton Keynes, Edinburgh, Newcastle, Manchester, Bristol, Cardiff, Dublin, Birmingham, Southampton, Liverpool, London, Nottingham, Bradford, Sheffield, Aberdeen, Glasgow, and Plymouth.
