The Broadway-aimed adaptation of the famed novel features a book and lyrics by Matte O’Brien and music by Matt Vinson.

The Broadway-aimed Anne of Green Gables: A New Musical will have three industry presentations February 1–2 following a four-week-long developmental workshop. The musical adaptation of the novel of the same name features a book and lyrics by Matte O’Brien and music by Matt Vinson.

Jenn Thompson will direct the work that follows orphan Anne Shirley, who after time spent in strangers' homes and orphanages has finally found a home with siblings Marilla and Matthew Cuthbert, who were accidentally sent Anne rather than the boy they had intended to adopt.

The industry presentation will feature Carmen Cusack as Marilla Cuthbert, D.C. Anderson as Matthew Cuthbert, Juliette Redden as Anne Shirley, Jarred Bedgood as Jude Andrews/Mr. Essenter, Tristen Buettel as Josie Pye, Ixchel Cuellar as Melody Maude Bombard, Hoke Faser as Charlie Sloan, Amanda Ferguson as Mrs. Barry/Miss Stacy, Josh Hoon Lee as Moody McPherson, Pierre Marais as Gilbert Blythe, Kevyn Morrow as Mr. Blythe/Mr. Phillips, Jenna Lea Rosen as Prissy Andrews, Drew Tanabe as Fred Wright, Michelle Veintimilla as Diana Barry, Aurelia Williams as Rachel Lynde, Maria Wirries as Ruby Gillis.

The musical adaptation will have choreography by Ellenore Scott, assistant choreography by Logan Epstein, assistant direction by Katherine Birenboim, sound design by Ken Travis, production stage management by Janelle Caso, assistant stage management by Daniel Vaughn and Kayla Owen, production assistance by Rico Froehlich, and general management by ShowTown TheatricalsEric Cornell and Jack Sennott of Cornice Productions serve as producers.

The presentations will also have music supervision and music direction by Amanda Morton, orchestrations by Justin Goldner, associate music direction by Sasha Bartol, and music assistance by Alex Greenberg. The band will consist of rehearsal pianist Alex Greenburg, drummer Jesse-Ray Leich, guitarist Kevin Ramessar, and bassist Michael Thurber.

Casting is by Murnane Casting/Chad Eric Murnane. 

Anne of Green Gables: A New Musical was produced and made its world premiere at Goodspeed Musicals in 2022, after being developed and produced by Justin Nichols and The Rev Theatre Company in 2018.
