This year's networking event is the fifth event of its kind, with the organization's first-ever hybrid event being held last year, and three virtual events in the years prior.

In previous years, the networking events have hosted over 40 theatre industry professionals from Broadway, off-Broadway and beyond, with representatives from RCI Theatricals, Disney Theatrical ProductionsClassic Stage Company, Playwrights Horizons, Norwegian Cruise Lines, and more. This year's representatives have not yet been revealed.

For theatre industry professionals interested in representing their organization, or for stage managers seeking to attend, an application must be filled out by August 25 at 11:59 PM. Applications and registration information can be found at BroadwayBeyondAccess.com.

Since its founding in 2020, Broadway & Beyond: Access for Stage Managers of color has aimed to break down barriers and increase access and opportunities for stage managers of color. In addition to the four previous networking events, the organization has hosted multiple educational seminars. Their first-ever networking event was hosted by Tony Award-winning director Kenny Leon and offered 75 stage managers of color from around the country the opportunity to network with veteran stage managers from across the industry. They have also hosted a résumé and interview prep workshop and a webinar on anti-racist and anti-oppressive stage management practices, and their online database of stage managers of color, as well as their job notices page, is available for free on their website, BroadwayBeyondAccess.com.

Broadway & Beyond: Access for Stage Managers of Color is led by veteran stage managers Lisa Dawn Cave, Beverly Jenkins, Jimmie Lee Smith, and Kenneth J. McGee.
