Industry News Andy Karl Will Headline Groundhog Day Cast Reunion as NYC Benefit The company of the Tony-nominated musical will gather—when else?—February 2.

Andy Karl, who earned a Tony nomination as the lead in Groundhog Day: The Musical, will headline a reunion concert of cast members from the Tim Minchin show, February 2 (Groundhog Day, naturally) in New York City. Part of the proceeds will benefit the National Alliance on Mental Illness.

Titled Humans of Punxatawney: A Groundhog Day Reunion, the event will take place 11:30 PM at Feinstein’s/54 Below supper club to raise money for the organization’s “Tomorrow There Will be Sun” campaign.

Groundhog Day: The Musical closed September 17, 2017, after a five-month run. The show was nominated for seven Tony Awards, including Best Musical and Best Actor in a Musical (Karl).

Scheduled to reunite with Karl will be original cast members Kevin Bernard, Michael Fatica, Katy Geraghty, Jordan Grubb, Taylor Jones, Tari Kelly, Ray Lee, Joseph Medeiros, Sean Montgomery, Jenna Rubaii, John Sanders, Vishal Vaidya, and Travis Waldschmidt. Other names are expected to be announced in the coming weeks.

The concert will be directed by Michael Gacetta, accompanied by musicians Andy Grobengieser, Howie Joines, Mark Verdino, and Dan Erben, and is being produced by Aviva Sokolow.
