Katrina Lenk, the star of David Yazbek and Itamar Moses’ new musical The Band's Visit, invites us backstage for a before-and-after tour of her dressing room at the Ethel Barrymore Theatre. Designer Mike Harrison, one of Broadway’s go-to dressing room designers, has transformed the room into a Middle Eastern-inspired sanctuary.

Based on the screenplay by Eran Kolirin, The Band’s Visit follows the story of an Egyptian police band, who, after a mixup at the border, find themselves in a remote village in the middle of the Israeli desert. With no bus or hotel in sight, the band members are led into unlikely friendships with some of the locals, causing their lives to intertwine in unexpected and spectacular ways.
Performances began on Broadway October 7 following an acclaimed Off-Broadway debut.
David Cromer directs a cast made up of Lenk, Tony nominees Tony Shalhoub and John Cariani, George Abud, Andrew Polk, Bill Army, Adam Kantor, Rachel Prather, Jonathan Raviv, Sharone Sayegh, Ari’el Stachel, Kristen Sieh, Etai Benson, and Alok Tewari.
The show is set to officially open November 9.
