Alex Edelman to Perform Just For Us At the Edinburgh Festival Fringe (Again)

Alex Edelman is performing his one-man show Just For Us on Broadway until August 19. Right after, the comedian is going to hop on a plane and fly to Edinburgh, where he will be performing Just For Us for one-night-only August 26. The event will benefit the show's director Adam Brace, who died earlier this summer at the age of 43 (Just For Us was his posthumous Broadway debut).

In a statement posted to Instagram, Edelman said, "Adam was my director and closest pal. He passed away five weeks before we started on Broadway. I miss him terribly. Edinburgh was his favorite place. And mine. It'll be pretty sad but also nice and fun I think."

Edelman first performed Just For Us at the Edinburgh Fringe in 2018. The show then traveled to Australia, London, Washington, D.C., Boston, Off-Broadway in New York, and then to Broadway. In it, Edelman, who is Jewish, talks about how he infiltrated a White Nationalists meeting in New York City.

The August 26 performance will be performed at the Pleasance and be coproduced with Soho Theatre. Proceeds from the event will benefit the Adam Brace Award. Tickets can be purchased here.

As Edelman previously told Playbill, “I really don't like the term solo show because it's such a misnomer,” Edelman says. “I think of the show as belonging to the people who have worked on it. And Adam was a huge part of it. The idea that I'm going to have to do it without him is devastating.”
