Shaun Taylor-Corbett explores his paternal Blackfeet heritage in Distant Thunder, a new musical currently in development. The story follows Darrell Walters, a mixed-race Native American raised by his white mother in Chicago who returns to the Blackfeet reservation upon her death. Book is by Taylor-Corbett along with his mother Lynne Taylor-Corbet; music and lyrics by Chris Wiseman and Shaun Taylor-Corbett. The story has also been adapted as a screenplay, which is currently in the second round of competition at Sundance. In July, this mini-documentary was shot in support of the screenplay.
