The George M. Cohan Theatre was built in 1911, located at 1482 Broadway at 43rd Street. It was produced by George M. Cohan himself and designed by architect George Keister. The Cohan Theatre produced shows including The Little Millionaire, Potash & Perlmutter, It Pays to Advertise, a black revue called Change Your Luck, featuring Alberta Hunter, and a white revue called Shoot the Works, starring Imogene Coca and George Murphy. Following a string of flops, the George M. Cohan Theatre became an unsuccessful movie theatre, and it was demolished in 1938.
