Original Off-Broadway cast members of Margaret Edson's Wit will perform a staged reading the work Nov. 21 celebrating MCC Theater's 20th anniversary season.

When she becomes diagnosed with terminal ovarian cancer, her approach to the illness is not unlike her approach to the study of Donne: aggressively probing and intensely rational.

Talk about a hard act to follow. Kathleen Chalfant won an OBIE, a Lortel Award, a Drama Desk Award and Outer Critics Circle Awards for her role in Margaret Edson's Pulitzer-winning drama, Wit. But all great things come to an end, and Chalfant leaves the Off-Broadway drama, as scheduled Aug. 8.

NY's Manhattan Class Company's (MCC) acclaimed production of Wit has at last found a larger home for an extended run. As reported by Playbill On-Line Nov. 19, the play will transfer to the Union Square theatre in December, confirmed a spokesman for Patrick Harold, agent to Wit director Derek Anson Jones.
