With the announcement of three key executive appointments, Broadway Digital Entertainment (BDE) has moved to strengthen its management structure and raise its profile in the race to establish the first successful broadcast model for Broadway product.
The pay-per-view based Broadway Television Network (BTN) will air its closing week taping of the Frank Wildhorn-Leslie Bricusse musical, Jekyll & Hyde , on March 10. International recording artist David Hasselhoff (of “Baywatch” fame) plays the title role in the Tony nominated musical that surpassed the 1,500 performance mark on Dec. 1, 2000.
As of Nov. 1, the website BroadwayOnline.com stopped offering its service of theatre news, columns and special features. A victim of the dot-com downturn plaguing America, the site, owned by Broadway Television Network (BTN), effectively shut down as a provider of original theatre related content.
