The Denver Center Theatre Company production, in association with the RSC, began rehearsals in March in anticipation of its first previews in September. The British director Hall, of course, did not do it alone. He co-directed with his son, Edward, and has an international creative and acting team on his side. Staged in three parts, the postmodern, epic, 15-play cycle — with "three- and four-beat verse," masks, lighting by a Japanese designer, music composed by an Irish composer who is steeped in international folk music — officially opens Oct. 21 in a marathon staging 10 AM-10:30 PM, in Denver. Back in August 1998, producers Elizabeth McCann and Daryl Roth were planning to revive Edward Albee's complex 1965 drama, Tiny Alice, on Broadway. They had a director, Mark Lamos, and a star, Richard Thomas, who appeared in the show's hit revival at Connecticut's Hartford Stage earlier that year. A female lead proved harder to find, however, and the production never materialized.

Off-Broadway’s Second Stage Theatre has announced the remaining cast of its upcoming revival of Edward Albee’s Tiny Alice, which goes into rehearsals Oct. 17. Joining leads Richard Thomas and Laila Robins are John Michael Higgins, Tom Lacy and Stephen Rowe. Higgins, currently in the Christopher Guest film comedy “Best In Show,” was the original Jeffrey in OB’s Jeffrey. Lacy appeared in the National Actors Theatre mounting of Timon of Athens.

The creators of the new musical Summer of '42 have been tweaking and refining their show during its world premiere run at Goodspeed-at Chester/Norma Terris Theatre, cutting one song and adding a new one.
