Karen Fraction, a Broadway performer who danced in the cast of the Broadway shows
The Tap Dance Kid and the 1991 revival of
Oh, Kay!, died Oct. 30, 2007. She was 49. The cause was breast cancer.
Born in Flint, MI, she attended Alelphi University, where she majored in communications. During he sophomore year, she was cast in a touring production of
The Wiz. This lead to several Broadway gigs, including a 1987 revival of
Cabaret. She toured Europe and Japan in Bob Fosse's
Dancin'. She also participated in the famous 1985 concert version of Stephen Sondheim's
Follies.
In 1991, she and her husband moved to Florida. Her television credits include the Nickelodeon series "My Brother and Me," "Walker: Texas Ranger" and "Sheena."
