Production Manager - Traveling Circus

Term: July 18, 2024 – February 2, 2025
Weekly Fee: $1,500 - $1,750 per week
Accommodation: Housing provided in company RV with bathroom, oven, stove, microwave, and fridge.

Employment Type: Contract - Non Union - Touring Employee

Duties & Responsibilities:

Coordinate the pick-up and return of rented lighting and sound equipment
Coordinate jump schedules and associated travel planning.
Act as the in-person point of contact on behalf of the circus with local venue contacts.
Determine lot layout and design for each show site, including backlot equipment, vehicles, water, and power needs.
Oversee and participate in load-in and load-out with the touring and local crews.
Ensure the safe and efficient set-up, take-down, and operation of the staging, lighting, and sound systems at each location.
Plan and execute the safe and efficient loading and unloading of technical and backlot equipment for travel.
Communication and coordination with cast and crew about plans for maintenance, repairs, inclement weather, or changes to standard operating procedures.
Participate in state and local inspections as needed.
Tow a company trailer.
Act as a back-up light and sound board operator.
Perform other general production management duties as assigned.

Requirements:
3+ years of experience in production management within a circus, live performance, or equivalent setting.
Strong organizational and multitasking skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with local venue contacts and crew members.
Knowledge of technical aspects of lighting, sound, and staging.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and plans.
Must have a valid driver’s license and experience towing trailers.
Ability to lift at least 50 pounds.
Must be willing to travel with the circus company.
Understanding of health and safety regulations is crucial.
Proficient in problem-solving and conflict resolution.
