News World Premiere: Kissed Creator Stages Gift David Drake, the creator and star of the critically acclaimed The Night Larry Kramer Kissed Me, will direct the world premiere of Steve Lyons' The Gift, which will play the Provincetown Theater March 19-April 5.

The cast will include Beau Jackett, Sallie Tighe, Jimi Little, Jane E. Macdonald and Gabby Calixteas. The two-act play, which is set in the 1960s, is described thus: "Moving back to his southern Appalachian home to restore the medical practice of his deceased father, a young Thom Riddle meets and falls in love with Eshie, the beautiful black Evangelist, who is blessed with the gift of tongues. Complications arise when Thom begins questioning of her faith and this perceived 'gift' setting off a series of events and emotions that opens up the racial and socio/economic issues of the community, his family and her church’s pastor, a dynamic and commanding man, who is a pivotal force in the unfolding events that lead Eshie to her true voice."

The limited engagement will have set design by Tristan DeVincenzo, lighting design by Chris Page, costume design by Carol Sherry, stage management by Bretten Burger and associate direction by Margaret Van Sant.
