Actor Heather Litteer and wild project have revealed the complete lineup for the upcoming W.O.(e).R.D. – On the Verge festival of women's arts. Hosted and curated by Litteer, this year's festival is set to take place March 28-31 at wild project, where Litteer currently serves on the advisory board.
Litteer started Women of Experience Read Downtown (W.O.(e).R.D.) to highlight femme and nonbinary artists whose work "colors outside the lines." The W.O.(e).R.D. – On the Verge festival aims to do the same, bringing together female and nonbinary artists from a diverse range of creative disciplines to celebrate literary works.
“I wanted to highlight women, period," Litteer said in a statement. "W.O.(e).R.D.’s On the Verge festival is for all that like to color outside the lines—my sisters, mentors, collaborators, inspirations, instigators, revolutionaries, and rock stars. It’s a place where we are free to voice our lived experience as creatrix in a place without judgment. Let’s activate and create!”
Friday, March 29, the festival will kick off with an opening night reception and gallery, featuring the artwork of Nikki Cahill, Darryl LaVare, Madeleine Mackey, Susan Ottaviano, and Brelyn Spindel from 6:00-8:00 PM.
The evening will also include a variety performance titled Ta-TayTriarchy Take It!, inspired by Taylor Swift and other femme public figures. The show will feature Laurie Berg, Cary Curran, Viva De Concini, Dexter Driscoll, Susan Hwang, Jessica Kilguss, Elizabeth Koke, Ndanu Mutisya, Lucy Sexton, Kelley Swindall, Adrienne Truscott, Nora Burns, and more.
Saturday, March 30 at 12:00 PM, programming will continue with a new play reading series, which will showcase Notes From the Cottage, a work written and directed by Lisa Clair of Lisa Clair Group. Clair, Ean Sheehy, and Zoe Geltman will be featured in the cast.
At 3:00 PM on Saturday, a selection of short films will be screened, including work from Heather AC, Valeria Avina, Amanda Daviner, Julie Hair, Lauren Sowa, Heather Maria Àcs, and Gina Volpe. At 7:00 PM, the festival will screen Pratibha Parmar's feature film My Name is Andrea.
Sunday, March 31 at 7:00 PM, programming will conclude with the W.O.(e).R.D. Reading Series. The series, which originally inspired the festival, will feature work from Kate Valentine, Jennifer Blowdryer, Cynthia Carr, Christen Clifford, and Cynthia Ross.
