Video Video: See Who's Playing the Voice of God in the Broadway Revival of Spamalot

Monty Python's Eric Idle broke the news on The Tonight Show November 10.

Monty Python's Eric Idle announced November 10 on The Tonight Show that Steve Martin is the voice of God in Broadway's Spamalot—check out a clip of the reveal above. 

The Broadway revival began performances October 31 at the St. James Theatre, ahead of a November 16 opening night. 

Based on the 1975 film Monty Python and the Holy GrailSpamalot follows King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table on their quest for the Holy Grail, complete with coconut-shell horse hooves, a run-in with the Knights Who Say "Ni!," and more. The musical features a book by Idle and a score by Idle and John Du Prez. Josh Rhodes is directing and choreographing after staging the production's premiere at The Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C., earlier this year.

Tony winner James Monroe Iglehart (Aladdin, Hamilton) leads the cast as King Arthur, with Leslie Rodriguez Kritzer (Beetlejuice) as The Lady of the Lake, Tony nominee Christopher Fitzgerald (Waitress) as Patsy, Tony nominee Ethan Slater (SpongeBob SquarePants: The Broadway Musical) as The Historian/Prince Herbert, Taran Killam (Hamilton, Saturday Night Live) as Lancelot, Jimmy Smagula (Billy Elliot) as Sir Bedevere, Drama Desk Award winner Michael Urie (Shrinking, Torch Song) as Sir Robin, and Nik Walker (Hamilton) as Sir Galahad.

The ensemble includes Daniel Beeman, Maria Briggs, Gabriella Enriquez, Michael Fatica, Denis Lambert, Shina Ann Morris, Kaylee Olson, Kristin Piro, Drew Redington, and Tyler Roberts. Standbys David Josefsberg and Graham Stevens, and swings Anju Cloud, Darrel T. Joe, Lily Kaufmann, and Charlie Sutton round out the company.

The production also features scenic and projection design by Paul Tate dePoo III, costume design by Jen Caprio, lighting design by Cory Pattak, sound design by Kai Harada and Haley Parcher, wig design by Tom Watson, and music direction and supervision by John Bell. Orchestrations are by Larry Hochman, and arrangements are by Glen Kelly. Casting is by JZ Casting's Geoff Josselson and Katja Zarolinski. Matthew Lacey serves as the production stage manager, and RCI Theatricals serves as general manager.
