London's Olivier-winning Cabaret revival welcomed several
new actors to the Kit Kat Club June 3, and the production has just
released a teaser video of its new stars. Watch the new trailer above.
Heartstopper's Rhea Norwood stepped into the role of Sally Bowles, while Everybody’s Talking About Jamie's Layton Williams became the new Emcee. The two actors succeeded Cara Delevingne and Luke Treadaway. (Norwood and Williams are currently scheduled to continue through September 21.)
The company also welcomed Sally Ann Triplett as Fraulein
Schneider and Fenton Gray as Herr Schultz, who replaced Beverley
Klein and Teddy Kempner, respectively.
The production, which recently surpassed 1,000 performances, also
features Michael Ahomka-Lindsay as Clifford Bradshaw, Wilf Scolding as
Ernst Ludwig, Jessica Kirton as Fraulein Kost/Fritzie, Liv Alexander as
Texas, Natalie Chua as Frenchie, Laura Delany as Rosie, Taite-Elliot
Drew as Hans, Damon Gould as Victor, El Haq Latief as Helga, Grant Neal
as Herman/Max, Hicaro Nicolai as Lulu, and Travis Ross as Bobby.
The cast is completed by Rebecca Lisewski, Ela Lisondra, Nic Myers, Andy Rees, Toby Turpin, and Patrick Wilden. Nic Myers plays the role of Sally Bowles once a week.
The prologue company includes Rachel Benson, Ami Benton, Onyemachi
Ejimofor, Joseph Hardy, Liz Kamille, Andrew Linnie, Aine McLoughlin,
Jack William Parry, Jazmyn Raikes, Oliver Stockley, and Ena Yamaguchi.
This production of Cabaret opened in December 2021,
subsequently winning a record-breaking seven Olivier Awards. The revival
recently transferred to Broadway's August Wilson Theatre with the
London production's Olivier-winning original Emcee, Eddie Redmayne,
reprising his performance for the Broadway bow, opposite Gayle Rankin as
Sally Bowles, Bebe Neuwirth as Fraulein Schneider, Ato Blankson-Wood as
Clifford Bradshaw, and Steven Skybell as Herr Schultz.
Based on the play by John Van Druten and stories by Christopher Isherwood, Cabaret has music by John Kander, lyrics by Fred Ebb, and a book by Joe Masteroff.
This production is directed by Rebecca Frecknall with set and costume design by Tom Scutt, choreography by Julia Cheng, musical supervision by Jennifer Whyte, musical direction by Ben Ferguson, lighting design by Isabella Byrd, and sound design by Nick Lidster. The casting director is Stuart Burt, and the associate director is Jordan Fein.
