According to the Gothamist, both the 1949 film of "On the Town" and 1957's "Pal Joey" will be available for viewing beginning Oct. 1. Gene Kelly and Frank Sinatra starred in the former; the latter featured Rita Hayworth, Sinatra and Kim Novak.
Starting Oct. 27, Tracy Letts' Tony and Pulitzer Prize-winning August: Osage County, starring Meryl Streep and Julia Roberts, will arrive on Netflix.
In related news, 1989's "The Phantom of the Opera," a darker version of the classic Gaston Leroux novel starring Robert Englund in the title role, will be removed from Netflix's virtual shelves Oct. 1.
