The Odysseus-like story follows Pericles as he wanders the world of the Aegean. The engagement runs through March 27 at Brooklyn's Polonsky Shakespeare Center, with an official opening night scheduled for Feb. 25.
The cast also features Oberon K.A. Adjepong, Earl Baker Jr., Philip Casnoff, Patrice Johnson Chevannes, Gia Crovatin, Lilly Englert, Nina Hellman, Zachary Infante, John Keating, Ian Lassiter, Sam Morales, John Rothman, Raphael Nash Thompson; and PigPen Theatre Co. as the players and musicians, made up of Alex Falberg, Ben Ferguson, Curtis Gillen, Ryan Melia, Matt Nuernberger, Arya Shahi and Dan Weschler.
The production marks the first time that acclaimed director and former artistic director of the Royal Shakespeare Company and Royal National Theatre Nunn is staging Shakespeare in the U.S. His Broadway credits include Les Miserables, A Little Night Music, Oklahoma! and Sunset Boulevard, among many more. It also marks the third Shakespearean title role for Camargo, whose Shakespearean resume also includes As You Like It, The Tempest and Henry V.
TFNA's Pericles features live and recorded music written by Irish composer Shaun Davey, scenic design by Robert Jones, costume design by Constance Hoffman, lighting design by Stephen Strawbridge, sound design by Daniel Kluger and choreography by Brian Brooks.
