Backstage at the Marquis Theatre, Elizabeth Teeter sits at a dressing room table, getting ready to transform into the dark-haired, unusual, and grieving teenager Lydia Deetz. The curtain for Broadway's Beetlejuice will rise in just a couple of hours, and there's make-up, a wig, and a costume to get into.
Teeter portrays Lydia as she encounters a recently deceased couple, deals with a scheming demon, and reconciles with her father in the musical based on Tim Burton's cult classic film.
Tony nominees Scott Brown and Anthony King penned the book for Beetlejuice, which features an original score by Tony nominee Eddie Perfect and music supervision, orchestrations, and incidental music by Kris Kukul.
Illusions are by Michael Weber while dance arrangements are by David Dabbon. Also serving on the team are Rachel Bauder as production stage manager, Catie Davis as associate director, Nancy Renee Braun as associate choreographer, and Jenny Gersten as line producer. Casting is by The Telsey Office and Rachel Hoffman, and music producing is by Matt Stine.
Check out the gallery below to see the process behind Teeter's full transformation.
