Seth Rudetsky and James Wesley's award-winning streaming series Stars in the House, benefiting the Entertainment Community Fund, will continue May 15 at 8 PM ET with a special reunion and jam session celebrating Broadway's Almost Famous.
Set to make appearances are book writer-lyricist (and original screenwriter) Cameron Crowe and composer Tom Kitt, along with cast members Gerard Canonico, Julia Cassandra, Rob Colletti, Brandon Contreras, Drew Gehling, Claire Kwon, Anika Larsen, Casey Likes, Danny Lindgren, Erica Mansfield, Alisa Melendez, Solea Pfeiffer, and Emily Schultheis. With Kitt at the keys, the stream will feature live performances of 10 songs from the musical's 2023 Tony-nominated score, along with memories and anecdotes from the cast about the musical's four-year journey to Broadway.
"For the first time in over 500 episodes of Stars in the House, we are going to have a full-out jam session with an astonishing 10 songs from Almost Famous the Musical with many of the original cast and the composer himself, Tom Kitt, at the piano AND Cameron Crowe will be reading donations that come to us live during the show!" says host and producer James Wesley.
In the wake of the coronavirus pandemic and theatres across the world closing their curtains, Rudetsky and husband Wesley created Stars in the House, a live-streamed series to support the Entertainment Community Fund and its services, raising over $1.18 million dollars for the Fund and hundreds of thousands of dollars for additional non-profit organizations.
